stories

We have been collecting stories about who have shaped Evergreen over the years – leaders, quartets, chapters… so many have contributed.  As the stories get wrapped together they will be added to this section of the webpage.  If you have anything to share, please contact Ken at historian@evgdistrict.com

BRASS QUARTET

BRING BACK THE GOLD OL’ DAYS!

“We kinda miss those good old days!”

Twenty-five years ago in Eugene, EVG had 22 quartets in the District competition – including The Boon Brothers, Peanut Butter Conspiracy, Don’t Get Me Started!, and the winning quartet was Studio One! Song titles included “If All my Dreams,” and “We Kinda Miss Those Good Old Days”

That same contest, 15 choruses competed! Coos Bay was the Plateau 1 Champion, Kitsap County was the Plateau 2 Champion and Most Improved Chorus, and Salem was the Plateau 3 Champion and District representative to the International Contest in Anaheim the next summer with “Who’ll Dry Your Tears” and “Listen to that Dixie Band.”

 619 EVG chorus singers
crossed the stage that day!!!
